Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Plant Manager will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all operations associated with production in our New Prague manufacturing facility, which designs, manufactures, and services cryogenic solutions for the storage and delivery of cryogenic liquids used in industrial gas, food, beverage, medical, chemical, agricultural and energy applications. This location manufactures large welded pressure vessels that have high mix, lower volume per product.  

The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and results driven.  Effective communicator able to formulate and present information to employees, as well as management and customers.  Define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw conclusions and offer insights and solutions.  Lastly, the ideal candidate will have a passion for developing people.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Responsible to plan, direct and coordinate all manufacturing operations for the assigned facilities to achieve efficient, economical and timely production of company products all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety to accomplish division objectives and to achieve profit and investment return goals
  • Success will be measured based on: quality, on time delivery, lead times, labor efficiency, cost, safety audit and incident rate and productivity improvements
  • Drive a safety-based culture through work practices, procedures and adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Develop, establish and implement long range and short-term plans, operation policies, etc.
  • Provide direct leadership of the continuous improvement vision, objectives and developing corrective actions
  • Through motivating techniques, delegate appropriate authority and responsibilities to subordinate Mangers, Staff Personnel, Line Supervisors, etc; coordinate and expedite activities in the areas.
  • Develop capabilities of the operations management team
  • Maintain close surveillance over operations through reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure ordinate and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel, skills, machines, equipment and facilities
  • Assist, advise and otherwise expedite solutions of manufacturing and related problems, including formal corrective action procedures
  • Act as liaison between Management and Supervisory levels to keep involved personnel up-to-date on communications, decisions and policies
  • Supervise and coordinate the various programs essential to manufacturing, e.g. training, safety, housekeeping, work simplifications, cost reduction, wage and salary administration, plant protection and security, etc.
  • Plan and determine direct and indirect manpower requirements based on forecasts
  • Delegate projects to Managerial and Staff Personnel for research, development and evaluation of adaptability, economic feasibility and extent of procedural change
  • Supervise the preparation of reports or prepare reports as needed to management
  • Ensure appropriateness of the Quality Policy and effectiveness of Quality System through measures

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 5-8 years related experience including:
    • Managing large production facility of 300+ employees
    • Experience with highly engineered products
    • Automation of processes
    • Welding large vessels preferred
  • Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/develop teams and individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to identify/execute continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively write and deliver business correspondence

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting. Must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. as regular daily activities necessitate.
