Ensuring Chart’s Success…
This position plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products and will lead the day to day operations of a department including managing the production processes and staff associated with them. This role will be critical in ensuring that Chart achieves key metrics around on time delivery, quality, safety and efficiencies.
This position in on our day shift:
Monday - Friday; 5:45am-2:15pm
Some overtime is required.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
- Confidently and independently coordinates production activities with other departments. Initiates inter-departmental activities to meet company production and quality objectives.
- Works with and updates immediate supervisor on production plans, schedules and key metrics.
- Provide motivational leadership to achieve positive moral, production efficiencies, adherence to company policies and general order to achieve production schedules while maintaining excellent levels of quality and safety.
- Communicate with the team on a regular basis at Toolbox Talks and other forums about upcoming production levels, company announcements, etc.
- Aids in training employees as needed. Verifying that all employees in their area have the proper certifications and training in newly assigned work functions.
- Promotes a safe work environment through positive reinforcement and holding the team accountable where needed.
- Collaborated with Engineering on manufacturing issues – documenting issues and submitting NCRs.
- Troubleshoots issues that arise in production and helps to drive solutions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
- This position will require the ability to regularly move around the production floor and investigate issues with the production equipment.
- Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation.
- Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes.
- Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and occasional crawling.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance
- Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
- Repetitive hand movements
Your Education Should Be…
- High School diploma or GED
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
- 5+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Ability to work with and tackle issues which arise in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Proficient in E-1 system (adding parts, issuing parts, checking supply and demand, pulling up drawings, etc.)
- Knowledge of DOT and AAR guidelines
- Ability to work with limited direction
- Readily takes action on challenges and with a "can do" attitude
