Ensuring Chart’s Success…

This exciting position will provide you with an opportunity to fundamentally change what powers cars.  You’ll be creating one of the most technically challenging pumps possible for use in the growing clean energy market.  This high visibility position at the leader in cryogenics will let you leverage your skills to create something great.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop pump requirements
  • Design of a high pressure (1000bar) liquid hydogen pump including drive system
  • Creation of the sump used by the pump
  • Assist with the integration of the pump to the cyogenic bulk tank
  • Work with team on risk management activities
  • Concept development of other potential pumps

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders
  • Assist with pump builds
  • Creation of work instructions in conjunction with production
  • Development of end of line testing plan
  • Creation of product documentation including manuals and cutsheets
  • Support beta testing efforts at installations as necessary
Your Professional Experience Should Be…

EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Minimum 10 years of cryogenic pump or positive displacement pump experience
  • Preferred: 10+ years of hydrogen positve displacement pump experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in the creation of positive displacement liquid hydogen pumps preferred
  • General experience in positive displacement cryogenic pumps required
  • Skilled in the area of thermal and flow analysis of pumps
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and a team leader
  • Prodicient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solidworks CAD skills
Your Education Should Be…
  • BS Engineering degree, strongly prefer Mechanical
  • MS or PhD degree is a plus
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office environment
  • Engineering lab include outdoor testing
  • Work related travel may be required (approximately 25% maximum)

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, sitting and walking
  • Frequent computer work

Work Hazards:

  • Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
  • Liquid hydrogen testing
