We are looking for a co-op/intern to join our New Prague team for the fall semester (August-December) with the potential to return for future semesters. This individual will be splitting their time in both an office and a lab setting. The ideal candidate must be comfortable using computer software to analyze data/write test plans and reports and must also be lab proficient as they will also be setting up tests, recording data and making adjustments.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Creating test protocols for R&D projects
  • Preparing test specimens and assembling prototype parts
  • Setting up and performing experiments based on project requirements
  • Installing test instruments and connecting instrumentation wiring
  • Conducting tests, operating data acquisition equipment and analyzing collected data
  • Writing technical research reports based on observations and results
  • Performing design calculations in terms of performance and safety of products

Your Education Should Be…

Mechanical engineering, automotive engineering technology, electrical engineering, or manufacturing engineering technology preferred

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Student in an engineering discipline with at least 2 years of classes completed
  • Ability to work full-time during the Fall semester
  • Good problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude both mentally and hands-on
  • Previous experience in test data acquisition preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • SolidWorks or other CAD experience preferred but not required
  • FEA or CFD experience preferred but not required
