Wages for welders starting at up to $32.00 per hour.

Operating Hours – Monday through Thursday – 6:00-4:30. Must be available to work OT beyond normal operating hours as needed.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Must train and pass a minimum of 6G level GTAW
  • GTAW B-31.3 on Aluminum pipe a plus, but not required
  • Must weld to x-ray quality at all times and when required, pass x-ray and dye penetrant check of welds
  • FCAW to ASME standards
  • May weld with other processes and varied weldments and metals as warranted
  • Works from drawings and specifications
  • Must identify material and markings to ensure proper piece parts and identification codes are present
  • Identify and use proper Work Instructions and other related specifications
  • Must perform fit-checks prior to final assembly with potential to rework fitments to meet drawing specifications
  • Responsible for quality of weld joint and proper identification of the weld
  • Setup and operation for ideal welding conditions
  • Perform minor maintenance on all welding machines such as change torch, foot pedal, fuses, load and adjust MIG wire feeder, and check coolant reservoirs daily.
  • Set up and operate portable plasma cutter
  • Preheat preparation prior to welding per instructions
  • Must keep work area clean and maintain shop housekeeping
  • May need to perform a job from start to finish including cut/prep /Fitting/ Welding
  • Unloading and loading of fabricated equipment or inhouse materials

Your Education Should Be…

  • Must have a certificate/degree in welding from a certified technical college or 12 months of professional welding experience.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

The candidate must have sufficient knowledge and ability to:

  • Use and interpret sub-assembly drawings.
  • Must have good dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Understand and work with welding codes, techniques, and special instructions.
  • Use measuring devices and have basic knowledge of math.
  • Work with both MIG and TIG weld processes on SS/ Aluminum and other metals when necessary.
  • Work closely with support groups such as Engineering and Supervisors.
  • Responsible for quality workmanship and requirements to reduce or eliminate hold points.

  • Various Jigs and Fixtures
  • Bench Grinder
  • Simple and Complicated Measuring Devices

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Works in an average factory environment. Exposed to the following conditions: heat, sharp edges, sometimes above-average noise, burns, fumes, smoke, dust. Protective equipment and clothing provided. Works in awkward positions: bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, and sitting. Lifting 0 to 50 lbs. When lifting over 50 lbs, two people are required.
