The Role

 

 

The Senior Finance Assistant (15-month maternity contract) is responsible for key internal activity to support weekly forecasting and group reporting for both P&L and Cash, including working with the Senior Business Partner in managing Aftermarket delivery (project revenue profiling and margin reviews).

 

The role will also provide key ad hoc support within the finance team across all areas including month end and WIP management.

 

We are aiming for a start date in May or June 2025.

What will you do?

 

 

  • Weekly ops reporting for bookings, sales & EBITDA
  • Consolidation of weekly cash reporting
  • Support project accounting with project level cost forecast reviews for % complete contracts 
  • Support maintenance of WIP including system corrections where required
  • Month end deliverables including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis as required
  • Provide cover for the Financial Controller for overtime payments as part of monthly payroll process
  • Support external audit requirements
  • Responsible for understanding and adherence to personal obligations in relation to maintaining quality standards, acting safely and in an environmentally friendly way, as is required for your role.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager that is within the scope of your ability and level of your role.
  • To contribute to continual process improvement and service delivery through providing timely feedback and ideas.

 

 

What do you bring?

 

 

An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile; 

 

  • Part-Qualified accountant or Qualified by experience 
  • Prior working knowledge analysing data, preparing commentary for variance analysis & interrogating systems 
  • Familiar with financial and month end processes
  • Engineering/ Manufacturing experience desirable, or familiar working in a product-based business 
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Good Excel skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritise workload
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and effective communicator
