The Role
The role is to perform the project accounting, reporting & support the operations in managing all financial aspects programme delivery including planning & forecasting, monitoring & advising, project margin, project revenue profile and cashflow.
Processing costing & reporting activities for the financial reporting of revenue, inventory, WIP, cost of goods sold, and underlying calculations and supporting analysis. This comprises short term delivery contracts and long-term construction contracts of 1 year+ with values of £10m+.

What will you do?
- Work with project management, engineering and operations teams to maintain the new equipment project costing spend to date and forecast spend to complete and project revenue profiles with comparison vs plan
- Performs project cost analysis and reporting for weekly review of high value orders and, on an ad hoc basis, other orders as required
- Prepare and present month-end reporting of actuals including variance analysis and commentary
- Customer order processing for long term construction contracts
- Manages the transaction processing for inventory and WIP accounting functions including running sub-ledger update routines and ad-hoc manual transactions as required to maintain accuracy and quality of inventory and WIP sub-ledgers and GL reporting balances
- Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and WIP materials and labour, accruals, commissions, warranty, labour revaluation and contract provisions
- Preparation of routine and non-routine journal entries
- Analyses and act on issues arising from insight into project performance
- Support internal, SOX, and external audit requests as related to these areas of responsibility
- Ensure compliance with monthly reporting cycle deadline and Sarbanes Oxley requirements for the areas covered by the role
What do you bring?
An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile;
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified
- Strong background in manufacturing long-term project accounting
- Proven experience partnering closely with a variety of business functions
- Very strong IT / Excel & Microsoft Office package skills
- Organised & good prioritising skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven, big corporate environment
- Very high standards
- Focus on team results
- Confident and effective in working with non-financial teams
- Proactive in engaging others in solving problems
- Resilient and a self-starter with a can-do attitude
