The New Build Sales Manager will drive growth for Chart/Howden’s Energy (PCOG: Petrochemical Oil & Gas) business by developing strong customer relationships, identifying and qualifying new opportunities, and leading commercial pursuits from inquiry stage through order closure. This role requires deep product understanding, strategic market engagement, and effective collaboration across internal functions to deliver high‑value solutions to clients.

What Will You Do?

Sales & Customer Management

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with key customers and prospects.
  • Lead the full sales cycle; from inquiry to order closure, with disciplined qualification and forecasting.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline to support sustained business growth.

 

Technical & Product Expertise

    • Maintain deep knowledge of Chart/Howden products and applications.
    • Translate customer needs into clear, value‑driven technical and commercial solutions.
    • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client challenges and recommending appropriate offerings.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

    • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Business Solutions, Controls Systems, Services, and BU teams to ensure accurate, compliant proposals.
    • Provide market inputs that help shape product strategy and support development priorities

Business Growth & Strategic Planning

  • Drive order growth through targeted pursuits and structured account planning.
  • Deliver market insights on competitors, EPC dynamics, pricing pressures, and customer requirements.
  • Support long‑term strategic initiatives aligned with business objectives.

 

Proposal & Commercial Management

  • Lead the development of proposals, pricing, and commercial terms.
  • Ensure competitive, accurate submissions and maintain rigorous Salesforce discipline

 

  • Willingness to travel as required, with a focus on developing/closing the opportunities in India

Your Experience Should Be...

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within capital process equipment or related industrial solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the EPC ecosystem in India and established relationships across the sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with demonstrated ability to grow business in competitive markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including comfort engaging with C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and associated sales processes.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating Commercial Terms & Conditions.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English
