The Role
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting project management activities from quote acceptance through execution, invoicing, and cash collection. Key responsibilities include fostering positive client relationships, assisting Project Managers with large project execution, and managing the commercial aspects of projects, such as budgets, cost reporting, and risk management. Additionally, the role entails overseeing project schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

What will you do...

Maintain detailed design, procurement, manufacturing and assembly programmes and report regularly on project status and deliveries.

Provide support to PM’s in procurement, engineering, despatch and all aspects of Projects activities as required.

Report regularly on project status both internally and externally.

Monitor and expedite internal & external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of hardware and software to support OTD of projects across all projects.

Maintain up-to-date project costs and provide periodic reports on project status and performance to management and the client.

Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy to ensure safe working environment.

Interact and respond to all aspects of the Howden Business Management System

What do you bring...
An ideal candidate would likely have the following experience…

Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering or project management discipline
-
Commercial acumen / experience in dealing with clients and suppliers
-
Confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions
-
Leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve project objectives
-
Ability to work independently
-
Confidence and experience to pro-actively lead issue resolution.

Computer literacy i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project
-
Excellent Time Management Skills
-
Excellent Communications skills (Written and Oral)

Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and responsibilities
-
Practical knowledge of project program design, maintenance and implementation.

A knowledge of turbo compressor systems would be beneficial.

A knowledge of and commitment to customer service, financial control and engineering quality would be beneficial.
