Commercial Manager – Howden, a Chart Industries Company

 

We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our dynamic team and collaborate closely with the Commercial Director to drive commercial excellence across our business unit. The ideal candidate will manage relationships with external clients, agencies, and internal teams, with a particular focus on partnering with Sales teams locally and in our global regional offices.

What will you do?

 

  • Collaborate with Value Streams and Sales teams to drive commercial rigour and ensure risk assessment for projects and financial performance.
  • Manage cashflows, milestone management, and terms & conditions, implementing process improvements to enhance customer service.
  • Support tender negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and participating in win strategies.
  • Mentor and coach execution teams on commercial best practices, both internally and with clients.
  • Lead dispute resolution, managing internal and client communications effectively.
  • Regularly liaise with the legal department and attend commercial meetings, potentially in overseas locations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with risk assessment protocols for active projects and opportunities.

 

Your Talent and Skills

 

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on profitability, clean order-to-cash processes, and sustainable growth.
  • Sound understanding of financial reporting, cashflow, revenue recognition, and profit & loss.
  • Experience in change management and a collaborative approach to affecting organisational change.
  • Dispute resolution experience and strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to audit and report on business processes and management systems.
