The Role

 

 

We are recruiting for a Graduate Finance Analyst to join our HQ in Renfrew on an initial 12 month contract. 

 

 

The Regional Finance Team for Europe drive the results and performance of the combined legacy Chart and Howden businesses across 16 countries and circa 40 business units in Europe. They provide financial leadership, direction and guidance to the business unit finance teams along with regional financial planning and analysis and reporting to the Regional President and their team as well as the wider Chart group finance organisation.

 


The Finance Analyst will support the Regional Financial Controller to ensure that the overall reporting and financial controls for Europe are managed and ensure the collation and distribution of accurate and timely information.

 


This role presents the opportunity to work in a highly qualified and experienced regional finance team supporting a broader team of finance professionals across Europe. This team also has regular collaborations with the Group Corporate Finance Team, including specialist Finance Functions. This is a time of exciting growth and change in the business as we continue our integration and identify new synergies. The Finance Graduate will gain exposure to and help support improvements in our core reporting cycles as well as working on finance projects which provide opportunities to learn and expand knowledge and skills in other areas, for example, working capital management, Capex, Acquisition accounting, and ESG reporting.

What you will do

 

 

 

  • Working with the local business unit finance teams, supporting the finance reporting cycle and processes
  • Support the teams to ensure that all internal and external reporting is delivered accurately and on time including weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly deliverables
  • Develop your understanding of the financial reporting system to enable you to prepare regional consolidated weekly/ monthly / quarterly reports.
  • Support business performance by providing analysis and insight into key strategic areas and partner with the business to identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide guidance to the Europe business units relating to reporting requirements and technical queries
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure all statutory and compliance requirements are met by the units throughout the region. Engage with Global functions (including SOX, tax and treasury) to ensure compliance as required
  • Participate in the AOP and quarterly forecast process and responsibility for some aspects in each of these
  • Act as a key member of the finance function, providing support to the Europe finance teams and collaborating with the group finance function for the benefit of the overall organisation

What do you bring?

 

 

An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:

 

 

  • 2:1 Degree in Accounting/ Finance and may be interested in later study toward Professional Finance Qualification (e.g. CIMA or ACCA)
  • Proficiency in excel and finance modelling skills
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Understands the importance of financial controls, discipline in operating in a controlled environment
  • Enjoys adapting and applying technology for process improvement, Power BI, Data Strategy etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of adapting to change and participating in process improvement initiatives
  • Fluent in English – a second European language is an advantage but not a necessity
  • Exposure to ERP systems would also be an advantage
