The Role

 

 

The Operations and Apprentice Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the HCO Apprenticeship Program in addition to providing strong administration support to HCO operations including having responsibility for organising and tracking Health & Safety critical training. This role will be responsible for the coordination of successful recruitment, development, and support of apprentices within the HCO Organisation including liasing with our college partners when required.

What will you do?

 

 

Apprenticeship Program

 

  • Coordinate the recruitment process for apprentices alongside HR, including organising apprentice open evening, arranging interviews, and co-ordinating onboarding process.
  • Support Operations leaders in rolling out and tracking individual training plans for apprentices, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance, instruction, and mentorship to develop their skills and competencies.
  • Assign mentors or trainers to apprentices alongside Operations leavers, and provide ongoing support to both apprentices and mentors to foster a positive learning environment and gathering end of rotation feedback.
  • Track apprentices' progress, identifying areas for improvement and addressing any challenges they may face to feedback to Operations Leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between apprentices, their mentors, and senior management, facilitating effective communication and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of apprenticeship activities, including training hours, evaluations, and compliance documentation from training providers.
  • Co-ordinate monthly apprenticeship meetings.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on the progress and outcomes of the apprenticeship program for management and stakeholders as required.

 


General Adminstration

 

  • Act as a Buyer utilising Microsoft D365 system for incidental items as required.
  • Act as a point of contact for issues with office equipment within HCO.
  • Event management including assisting with organising conferences, corporate hospitality and social events where required.

 


Health & Safety

 

  • Tracking and arranging safety critical training courses for HCO Factory.
  • Managing PPE orders.

 


Purchasing

 

  • Raising and issuing purchase order documents related to indirect procurement categories.
  • Managing associated invoicing process.
  • Liaising with suppliers as required

An ideal candidate would likely have the following profile:

 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team working skills
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Ability to establish and build sound working relationships

 

Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours

 

  • Higher English
  • HNC Business/Secretarial or equivalent
