The Role...

As the Project Buyer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities for allocated projects, ensuring that all aspects, including quality, on-time delivery (OTD), and budgetary requirements, are met. You will play a key role in supplier selection, contract negotiation, schedule management, and supplier performance monitoring to ensure successful project execution.

What will you do...

  • Manage the procurement process for engineered projects, including issuing enquiries, selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, expediting orders, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Implement the EMENA Supply Chain strategy in collaboration with the EMENA New Build Procurement Lead.
  • Ensure purchase orders are placed with approved suppliers, securing the best commercial terms while ensuring contractual requirements are met.
  • Monitor supplier performance, managing non-conformances and corrective actions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, supporting cost framework agreements with suppliers.
  • Oversee quality inspections, coordinating internal and customer quality control (QC) activities.
  • Facilitate supplier visits by clients, client representatives, and internal stakeholders.

What do you bring...

  • Diploma or 3+ years of post-apprentice experience in Mechanical/Fabrication Engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing global suppliers, with strong cultural awareness and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Minimum 3 years of sourcing experience, preferably in project-related procurement or fabrications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience with Microsoft AX ERP system or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 Quality Systems and Health & Safety standards.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and experience working with freight forwarders.
