The Role

 

This role focuses on conducting stress analysis for the packaging of screw compressors in process gas applications. It involves supporting sales, operations, and after-sales teams with technical expertise, contributing to proposal development, and fostering continuous improvement and safety initiatives. Additionally, the role includes mentoring and supporting other engineering team members.

What will you do...

 

  • Perform stress analysis on structural steel design using STAAD Pro software, ensuring compliance with international standards and client specifications.

  • Conduct pipework stress analysis using CAESAR II software, ensuring designs comply with B31.3 standards.

  • Develop and validate analytical models for structural steel and pipework systems.

  • Provide detailed reports and documentation of analysis results, including recommendations for design modifications and optimisations

  • Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

  • Identify and address potential stress-related issues in design stages to prevent future failures and inefficiencies.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices to ensure designs are compliant.

  • Support continuous improvement of Screw Compressor packages to optimise the designs.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluate and provide impartial technical reviews of sub-vendor bids to assist procurement activity.

  • Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policy to ensure safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact.

 

What do you bring...

 

An ideal candidate would likely have the following experience…

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Calibre in a Mechanical Engineering.
  • Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in using STAAD Pro software for structural steel analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME B31.3, AISC 360-16, ASCE 7-10, ASME VIII, and DNV rules.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical reports and documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
