Our expertise has made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100+ years, and we are now looking for a Lead Engineer, who will join our Project Engineering team and will support in making a valuable difference in the century to come.

The Lead Engineer takes full responsibility accomplishing the technical and engineering aspect of the active projects and fixed proposals. From startup until commissioning, concerning the compressor and all related systems. In doing so, the Lead Engineer is responsible for internal engineering objectives and external technical communication with all contractors and suppliers. 

What needs to be done?

The Lead Engineer ensures optimal project results concerning contract agreements, client satisfaction and Howden’s preceding reputation in delivering excellent compressors and adjacent systems. To succeed the Lead Engineer ensures (technical) coherence between all technical disciplines. He/She needs to keep in touch with the client and/or contractors and their demands without losing focus for internal process and engineering challenges in achieving results at the set milestones. 

What do you need to bring?

• A Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• Technical knowhow of heavy industry related machinery and equipment. Preferably extended with knowledge and experience of engineering rotating equipment.
• One must have a multidisciplinary view on engineering.
• Easy to work with and lead a team of at least 5 or more engineers with different skills and specialties.
• Used to convince and overcome objections and difficulties.
• Knowledge of process technology.
• Highly motivated to deliver high standards under pressure and being result oriented.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Pro-active behaviour.
• Good team player.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Dutch is desired.
• Willingness to travel (+/- 10%).
