Our expertise has made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100+ years, and we are now looking for an Mechanical Engineer Revamp who will join our engineering team and will support the business in making a valuable difference in the century to come.

What Will You Do?

Execution of design activities for the delivery of parts of centrifugal compressors, revamps, rerates, and assistance on repairs of Thomassen legacy as well as non OEM compressors and other turbomachinery. Engineering department localized in Rheden.

 

  • Upon request check on historical machine information for the purpose of compiling quotes.
  • Producing lay out and sketches for suppliers to quote for. Possibly after reverse engineering on site at clients or other Howden sites.
  • Support on technical queries regarding mechanical design, initiates adaptations and produce manufacturing drawings for suppliers.
  • Create new drawings for parts that are available on calque, micro or that need to be derived from identical machines and checks this within the lay out of the machine.
  • Produces repair drawings, assigns correct procedures if requested.
  • Compiles ordering texts and produces work package for planning/work preparation.
  • Designs new aero’s combining the aerodynamic design from the product engineers and check adapt design to accommodate in the existing casing.
  • Supports field service engineers on site during revamp/rerate projects.
  • 3-D measurements, on site or in the shop, with CMM and conversion into models/drawings for production.
  • Standardization.
  • Collect and structure historical data.
  • Participate in meetings/workshop to align procedures over the turbomachinery entities.
  • Actively propose improvements to design standards.

What Do You Need To Bring?

  • Exeperience with Inventor
  • Experience in measuring machine parts and prepared to work with 3D laser scanner
  • Turbomachinery experience would be an advantage
  • Field service experience would also be an advantage
  • Accuracy

  • Knowledge of other cultures
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of his time.

Monthly gross base salary between €4.000,- and €6.000,- for a 40 hour work week (Actual offer will depend on exprience, knowledge and working background.)
