The System Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring of the technical implementation of a project for the optimal implementation and delivery of a compressor installation plus systems in accordance with Howden Thomassen Compressors standards and specifically agreed customer requirements. Moreover the System Engineer will be implementing structural improvements within engineering.

What will you do?

  • The position is project responsible for the technical execution of customer projects. The activities consist of recording technical order specifications, creating and processing documents in which the technical implementation of the project is recorded. 
  • The position is responsible for maintaining internal company standards to: 
  • The function serves as a source of information and information point for the organization in the field of process gas products, engines/electrical, instrumentation, control/control systems and mechanical engineering (all disciplines that are part of a project).
  • The position also provides support for quotation work for the above points.
  • In addition to participating in customer projects, impact on business results through improvement projects and continuous improvemen
  • Drawing up documents (drawings and specifications) of non-standard products in a compressor installation on the basis of received data (customer specifications, (inter-)national legislation and design codes) for the purpose of purchasing products.
  • Provides input for the customer's position to the lead engineer and executes the result.
  • Consults with suppliers about the requirements for product execution and the required quality.
  • Ensures that the appropriate required documentation is received from suppliers and that these documents also contain the required information.
  • Discusses uncertainties and common problems with the lead engineer.
  • Ensure that the correct qualitative and quantitative engineering input is maintained to the project team. 
  •  Can be appointed as coordinating engineer if several system engineers are working on one project. This includes activities such as coordinating, dividing and organizing the activities for the team system engineers (±2 engineers). 
  • Represent the system engineering team in the progress meetings and TaskForce consultation 
  • Initiating internal improvement and standardization projects.

What do you need to bring?

  • Relevant technical education (Bachelor degree).
  • Basic knowledge of and interest in process gas/fluid handling equipment, instrumentation and drive systems.
  • Preferably knowledge of reciprocating compressors in our business.
  • Preferably experienced with drivers motors.
  • Be able to read drawings / P&ID and other specifications.
  •  Team player, analytic thinker and a self-starter.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while maintaining a customer focus.
  •  Fluency in English
