Procurement Engineer

What Will You Do?

1. To Procure all project related sub-contracted, manufactured items (Mechanical & fabricated) within project budget, timeframes and to Howden Quality Standards within the nominated value stream.
2. Responsible for execution of procurement activities directly dealing with suppliers, Placement of orders, expediting of orders with suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, receipting of vendor documentation.
3. Own and manage supplier’s schedules/deliveries on time and in-line with project schedule.
4. Prepare and Manage Request for Quotes Packages in order to find suitable suppliers that meet project budget, timeframe and Howden Quality Standards.
5. Analyse all suppliers in order to select the most suitable suppliers who are able to deliver high quality products at competitive pricing.
6. Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality.
7. Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions.
8. Adopt appropriate supplier management methodologies and procurement strategies in purchasing to secure better prices
9. Ensure all PO’s are issued and received in the HAU ERP system as per procedure.
10. Prepare Purchase orders and monitor the selected supplier to achieve project goals
11. Collect Quality and Inspection Documentation for the purchase orders placed and forward to QA for compilation
12. Follow all Howden Procedures and relevant standards including ISO9001, OCHSA18000 and ISO14000.
13. Manage transportation from Supplier to end destination including packing lists and related documentation as per agreed HAU Shipping process

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your work location will be in Thailand or Vietnam. This is a 6 months contract role.

Your Experience Should Be...

• 2 years previous experience as a procurement engineer
• Previous experience in the Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Industry
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Good stakeholder management skills
• Good organisational skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Good team player
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Computer literate (Word and Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to analyse bills of material and drawing to understand key requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement and contract procedures and systems
• Knowledge and direct demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with contract manufacturers and suppliers
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team or independently
• A positive attitude
• Sound judgement and initiative
