What Will You Do?
Perform the assembly of steel parts ranging from 1/8 to 1½ inches in thickness. Knowledge and use of assembly jigs, ability to read drawings, tack welding, and marking are required.
The assembler performs, in whole or in part, the following duties:
- Read and understand drawings and specifications;
- Mark parts to be assembled according to drawings and specifications;
- Assemble various sheet metal components prior to welding (primarily steel from 1/8 to 1½ inches);
- Comply with company standards;
- Inspect assembled parts in accordance with the company’s quality system;
- Use common assembly tools (MIG welder, grinders, torches);
- Follow the company’s Health and Safety rules and policies in compliance with CNESST regulations.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
- On-site work; easily accessible location with free and available parking;
Your Experience Should Be...
- High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent;
- 1 to 3 years of production experience;
- Strong ability to read technical drawings;
- Experience with tack welding and marking;
- Knowledge of assembly jig usage;
- Experience handling plates using an overhead crane and hoist is an asset;
- High level of autonomy, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to learn quickly.
- Physical ability to lift loads of up to 45 lbs (20 kg).
