We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Stafford, TX  Facility to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Aftermarket business. Primary responsibility of this position is to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment in Manufacturing and the Service Center. Responsible for working within the overall Stafford team to accomplish the goals of the business in the areas of EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements.

What Will You Do?

  • Support Production by maintaining the safe and efficient running of machine tools and ancillary equipment through Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repair.
  • Support this effort by aiming to identify and rectify root causes of machine problems.
  • Support the business in general by helping to maintain a safe and efficient workplace through general site maintenance.
  • Carry out the maintenance and repair of machine tools and ancillary equipment as required by breakdown situations, PPM routines, company Standard Practice Instructions and departmental needs to ensure best uptime of machine tools.
  • Maintain audit and machining history requirement by ensuring appropriate Maintenance Dept. documents are completed.
  • Identify and rectify root causes of machine problems using the technical information available in machine manuals, drawings and back-up from machine manufacturers’ service department to ensure best uptime.
  • Interact and respond to all aspects of Lean Manufacture supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and Quality improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards in compliance with Company policy to ensure safe working environment.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Majority of work shift is spent standing
  • ability to read tape measure
  • ability to read drawing/blueprints
  • use of hands to handle or feel equipment, reach with hands and arms to install equipment
  • ability to generate/prepare reports
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds. Above 50 pounds requires lifting equipment
  • Frequent walking, climbing or balancing, kneeling, bending, crouching, stooping, pulling, and pushing in order to install and/or diagnose equipment and/or tooling 
  • Good vision for close and distance with ability to focus
  • Must be able to operate the applicable forklifts as needed

Your Experience Should Be...

Essential skills, knowledge & behaviors

  • Electrical experience with AC/DC, both low voltage and high
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic experience
  • Proven problem-solving and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Self-starter
  • Good communication

Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviors

  • Forklift license
  • Electrical experience working on CNC and conventional machine tools.
  • CNC troubleshooting and repair experience, Doosan, Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, Mori
  • Flexibility
  • Experience of working in a similar environment
  • General Environmental Health and Safety awareness
