We are currently seeking a Manual Machinist for our Stafford, TX  Facility to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Aftermarket business. Primary responsibility of this position is to perform complete repairs on customer equipment for equipment in the Manufacturing Center. Responsible for working within the overall Manufacturing Center team to accomplish the goals of the business in the areas of EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements.

What Will You Do?

  • Must be self-motivated and open minded to lean our machining and safety procedures
  • Efficiently, carefully, and accurately sets-up and operates manual mills and lathes and has lengthy experience using a horizontal boring mill on a wide variety of diversified work
  • Lays out work and produce quality parts 
  • Deciphers sketches, blueprints, and engineering details
  • Provides assistance in establishing set up and layout methods, order of operations, and application of required parts and materials
  • Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction
  • Sharpens, reworks, resets and repairs cutting tools
  • Inspects and checks parts being produced
  • Maintains accurate production records and job history
  • Performs minor machine maintenance activities. Assists in setting up complex machines and stacking, marking, packing and transporting of finished products. Works at different work stations as per production requirements.
  • Keeps a clean and orderly work area
  • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management
  • Operate manual and automated cleaning equipment

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Follow all safety and environmental directives which includes wearing proper PPE
  • Ability to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls 
  • Ability to reach overhead
  • Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs of weight frequently throughout assigned workday 
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area and maintain accurate records and job history
  • Works with minimum supervision resolving complex issues

Your Experience Should Be...

  • Role requires 2 - 3 years of experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3+ years of machining experience preferred
  • Has an extensive knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materials
  • Has an advanced knowledge of shop mathematics
  • Reciprocating Compressor experience a definite plus- but not required
