Vice President, Operational Excellence – Americas to develop, maintain & implement an Americas Operational Excellence vision & roadmap to effect transformational cultural change and performance improvement throughout the Americas Region & extended supply chain. You will lead a direct and virtual team primarily focused on safety, continuous improvement, quality, capital projects and supply chain. The Americas region is made of four (4) Operating Segments. You and your team will work hand in hand with these teams to drive performance and deliver the Americas regional strategic and operational plan.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

Establish the “vision” and game plan for Operational Excellence dedicated to delivering consistently high performance and improvement.

· Build and sustain a right-sized and capable Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Safety, Health, Environmental, Capital Projects and Quality structure in support of the Operating Segments.

· Work hand in hand with the Operating Segment Leaders to develop, deliver & monitor action plans which will attain sustained operational execution performance at levels which meet or exceed customer expectations.

· Provide direct support to ensure the successful delivery of strategically significant CI events within the region through the combined application of facilitation skills and appropriate CI tools.

· Provide direction and oversight to ensure that strategy is cascaded throughout the region and ensure correct reporting of activity and benefits in line with the required Americas standards.

· Deliver training to management teams on the use of operational excellence tools and techniques and function as ongoing coach/mentor to further develop the capability of these leadership teams and develop an embedded culture of worldclass execution.

· Manage the auditing of local business units to ensure that they are sustaining benefits already realised and achieving continually improving standards of working and best practice sharing (Margin, On Time Delivery, cost and productivity). .

· Lead the development of the Americas industrial growth strategy of the business, facility investment requirements, in-sourcing opportunities and reviewing the overall footprint need.

Your Education Should Be…

· Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business; or other related degree applicable to industry/business strongly preferred

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

· 10 years minimum experience with custom fabrication and/or manufacturing

· Cross functional general management leadership, minimum of 5 years

· Proven track record of being a Safety leader

· Extensive knowledge & experience of working with Lean/6 Sigma continuous improvement (CI) and problem-solving tools and techniques.

· Proven experience in implementing Lean/6 Sigma CI projects, preferably in both transactional and manufacturing environments.

· Demonstrable experience in delivering process improvements and business results through leadership of operational excellence activity.

· Previous responsibility for a multi-site continuous improvement program.

· Proven experience in the successful delivery of structured training courses.

· Experience in coaching individuals through change to deliver improvements.

· Looks to exceed expectations through difficult challenges, finding solutions not problems.

· Driven self-starter, motivated by helping others to achieve deliverables.

· Adapts style to coach and mentor individuals and develop teams.

 

Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviors

· Experience of working for a project engineering company

· Training in a recognized Project and Change Management methodology.

· Proven excellence in Lean Operations
