Materials Manager

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• Oversees the purchasing, production, scheduling, inventory and warehousing of materials.
• Monitors plant inventories and purchasing activities partnering closely with operations to avoid production delays.
• Provides direction and guidance to the purchasing team and warehouse.
• Interviews vendors and visits supplier distribution centers and plants to learn about prices, products, and services.
• Negotiates contracts for the site and works out agreements with suppliers for product delivery.
• Performs analysis of price proposals and other information to determine reasonable pricing.

Your Education Should Be…

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as supply chain, etc. is preferred.
• May consider applicants without a degree if experience demonstrates progressive growth in complexity and accountability.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear.  The employee will occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.  

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

• 6 years of experience as a materials professional in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Experience must include working with an MRP system, JDE, strongly preferred.
• CPIM certification, a plus.
