The Product Engineer serves as the technical manager for their respective product lines. This position is the primary sponsor for product lifecycle management efforts and will work with the Design Engineers to ensure these efforts are successful. The selected individual will support engineering initiatives for product lines to meet the financial, quality, training and sales goals set by the Product Manager. The Product Engineer serves as the technical point of contact for customers as well as the sales, engineering, marketing, and commercial teams. This position will reside in Theodore, AL.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Support sales and marketing efforts as an engineering resource to maximize sales/market share of products
  • Define Customer and Tech Service training requirements
  • Problem solving and support with hydrogen transport product line
  • Lead value engineering efforts through design engineering and CI teams
  • Aid in customer training
  • Support NPD efforts with engineering team
  • Manage warranty claims by providing engineering guidance
  • Lead product related CAPA efforts as appropriate
  • Assist Product Manager with RFQ’s and new sales by providing technical assistance
  • Component and part selection and validation
  • Development and execution of test plans
  • Research and investigation of code requirements
  • Component and part selection and validation

Your Education Should Be…

  • BS Mechanical Engineering Degree or other engineering degree

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Working Conditions

  • Office environment
  • Manufacturing environment including outdoor testing
  • Work related travel may be required (approx. 10% maximum)

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking
  • Frequent computer work

Work Hazards:

  • Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
  • Liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen testing

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in hydrogen applications
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of experience with cryogenic applications
  • 3 years experience in design engineering
  • P&ID development
  • Development of equipment to engineering code standards
  • Proven ability to engage with customers in a professional and trustworthy manner
  • Proven ability to educate and explain product functionality, both the "how" and the "why"
  • Experience working in a self-directed role and comfortable making decisions independently
