Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Inspects the quality and performance of Company products from the receipt of raw materials and component parts in Receiving Department, through the fabrication process, to final test and customer acceptance of the product according to Company, customer and industry standards.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

· Predictably and regularly attend work and be punctual

· Read and understand documents and drawings

· Interact politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers

· Perform several tasks at once

· Follow direction or instruction

· Use a computer to communicate, create, and access information

· Inspect the entire fabrication process from the basic unit structure, performance of component parts, specific materials and final product performance to ascertain compliance with customer specifications, Company and industry standards

· Coordinate outside customer inspections, including communication of holding points

· Ensure that all hold points on the in-process inspection checklist have been met and products are identified properly

· Prepare Nonconformity Reports when a problem is detected in the production process

· Communicate engineering-related issues to the Engineering Department and communicate solutions to production floor

· Monitor performance of activities such as welding and liquid penetrant testing

· Review various test results’ such as mill test reports, post weld heat treat charts, and defect rate records to ensure products stay within predetermined parameters

· Inspect materials in Receiving Department for damage, proper size of components, correct heat numbers and appropriate mill test reports according to Company specifications

· Perform internal and external audits for ASME, ISO and supplier programs as well as internal procedural and system audits to ensure product quality

· Maintain product traceability program which includes receiving inspection, product identification, material requirements and mill test reports to track product performance throughout the fabrication process.

Your Education Should Be…

A. Basic Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent

B. Interpersonal Skills

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

· Demonstrated ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to top management

· Demonstrated dependability and customer service attitude

C. Technical Skills

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

· Demonstrated ability to work with mathematical concepts.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

-Working experience with Weld Inspection in ASME (CWI is a plus)

-Minimum of Level II experience with methodologies such as Liquid Penetrant Testing, Visual Testing, Ultrasonic Testing.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Physical Requirements of the Position:
    • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual Acuity Requirements of the Position:
    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing and computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Conditions the Employee will be Subject to in this Position:
    • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
    • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100° for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
    • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
    • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
