The Application Engineer position provides technical support to our Sales, Engineering and Project Management departments.  The AE will demonstrate strong Engineering skills while conducting analysis, failure investigation, statistical analysis and other design related activities using a variety of calculation methods and computer modeling programs to meet customer requirements.  The Applications Engineer is an onsite position based in Valencia,CA

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Determine scope of work for a project. Prepare project documentation such as technical specifications, proposals, pricing and schedules for centrifugal turbo-expanders, turbo-compressors and related equipment while ensuring total customer satisfaction.
  • Research, document, and act as subject matter expert on specified applications.
  • Coordinate data across teams to create coherent products and communication with Sales/Clients.
  • Developing the RFQs and obtain the quote from sub-vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases.
  • Participate in design and improvement processes.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of rotating machine dynamics.
  • Promote and practice proper safety procedures and personal protection equipment.
  • Provide cost analysis and forecast for Annual Operation Planning.
  • Post Order: develop order book, job budget, project schedule and transfer the information to Project Manager.
  • Special task may be assigned to support different functions.
  • Some domestic and international trips may be required.

Your Education Should Be…

  • BS Engineering

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Experience in centrifugal air/gas turbo-expander/turbo-compressor / turboexpander-gear-generator or other rotating equipment
  • + 3 years Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand bid/proposal specifications, both from a technical perspective and commercial perspective, as related to Contractual Terms and Conditions
  • Competent in reading technical drawings including P&IDs
  • Experience with API & ASME codes
  • Expertise in Aero Dynamics / Auxiliary System Design / Control & Electrical or Mechanical Design a big plus
  • Knowledge of computer software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project. 
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Air Separation and Power Generation required.
  • Experience in Risk Assessment analysis a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with internal personnel and external customers.
  • Self starter who can work independently without close supervision.
