What Will You Do?
Production Planning Control Supervisor is responsible for creating and executing the master production schedule. At the same time, must make good use of labor and machines, minimize work-in-process inventory, and maintain customer service. This position is also responsible for resolving constraints by smoothing production plans as required while actively supporting the implementation of new processes & process improvements. This position works closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Customer Service and Operations personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Using capacity planning tools, establish the production schedule for each customer order and confirm ship dates.
• Maintain material requirements planning (MRP) on manufactured components to avoid any shortages and excesses inventory.
• Release production orders to the shop floor.
• Review Work Center reports, check for shortages and work with purchasing and operations to expedite materials, as needed.
• Research order status for sales and lead production meetings.
• Work with operational management to take corrective action by replanning, rescheduling or adjusting capacity to meet delivery.
• Use lean daily management techniques to track on time delivery.
• Review change orders and execute them appropriately.
• Work with materials, operations and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Supervise the production supervisors and direct operations staff
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
Walking the production and office area. Working on a computer for long periods of time.
Your Experience Should Be...
Bachelors Degree prefered
Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing and/or production control environment
Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Ability to follow written and verbal instruction with minimal supervision
Computer skills with experience with excel worksheets and formulas required
Must be able to work in a supportive team environment
