We are currently seeking a Purchasing Supervisor in our Windsor, CT location.

What Will You Do?

Perform all procurement and planning activities for assigned product groups following established policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
•    Track KPI’s for Purchasing department. 
•    Maintains LDM (Lean Daily Management) and develop action plans to support continuous improvement. 
•    Represent Purchasing in production and large project meetings. 
•    Solicit supplier quotations and evaluate bids. 
•    Review areas in which prices can be re-negotiated; negotiate with current sources to secure the most advantageous terms, highest quality, best delivery, and lowest price.
•    Work close with corporate category managers on strategic cost savings projects. 
•    Maintain the integrity of the item data to assure accurate output of information with a strong emphasis on price and lead time. 
•    Monitor and Maintain VMI and Consignment programs to prevent stock outs. 
•    Utilize appropriate planning system within ERP to initiate orders for purchased parts. 
•    Coordinate and track the arrival of all materials needed to manufacture customer orders. 
•    Expedite parts as required and immediately notify sales and scheduling of any delays. 
•    Discusses defective or unacceptable goods with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of nonconformance and take corrective action.
•    Follow up on orders as necessary and expedite overdue orders or those with the potential of critical delays to production.
•    Maintain consistent vendor contact to keep informed of changes in pricing and lead time with emphasis on results-oriented relationships.
•    Inform the senior supply chain manager of issues that may require immediate action or attention at that level of the organization.
•    Work with accounting to clear up any invoicing needs.
•    Assist others in the department to solve routine, day-to-day problems and train current or new members of the department.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Will require the ability to stand, and walk. Ability to work at a desk, with a computer.  

Your Experience Should Be...

•    Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in business or related discipline required.
•    Minimum 6 years of work experience in manufacturing procurement. 
•    Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
•    Experience in purchasing motors, castings and machined parts is preferred. 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Detail oriented with a priority of accuracy.
•    Good organization skills with a pro-active attitude.
•    Must be skilled in Excel, Outlook and Word.
•    Knowledge of MRP and experience with ERP systems.
