We are now looking for a Manager Application Engineering to join our team and who will assist us in making a valuable difference in the century to come. We ensure that compressors continue to operate for years to come through maintenance plans, supply of OEM parts, service calls and equipment modifications to today's technology or changed operating conditions and repairs. The Manager Application Engineering leads the Application Engineering department, responsible for the support of internal and external development and design of innovative concepts for compressor products from the inception to production and maintenance.
What needs to be done?
• Leadership and Management: all people leadership responsibilities for the engineering departments in Germany and the Netherlands, ensuring alignment with company objectives and global standards.
• Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
• Directly manage and provide guidance to the Engineering Supervisors at each location.
• Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets for the engineering departments, optimizing resource allocation to achieve business objectives while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Support other business areas when needed as part of CPI’s global engineering team.
• Support for application engineering, customer field problems and troubleshooting on CPI manufactured products.
• Standardization and Compliance: Drive the implementation of global engineering standards and best practices across both CPI locations, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and guidelines.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Enhance cooperation and synergy between the CPI engineering departments in Germany and the Netherlands, fostering a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between CPI and Howden engineering teams to optimize processes and achieve shared goals.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, reviewing designs, resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Communication: Liaise and communicate with customers and external and internal stakeholders on project requirements and project progress.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure deliverables meet client expectations and project requirements.
• Contribute to the safety and safety awareness, identify and report unsafe situations.
• Travel 10% - 20%.
What do you need to bring?
• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering position, preferably in a similar industry.
• Basic knowledge of Inventor, practical experience with 3D CAD software.
• Ability to effectively review CAD designs and drawings.
• Strong understanding of customer needs and strong customer focus.
• Fluent Dutch and English language skills (written and verbal), German language skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Flexible and results oriented.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Driver’s license.
