As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for the execution of mechanical assemblies, repairs and assemblies in the workshop, with a focus on pumps, gearboxes, fans, blowers and compressors. You act as an expert and mentor for junior technicians and monitor the quality and safety of all work carried out. In addition to carrying out overhauls and repairs, you will support the daily operational processes and ensure a safe working environment.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

Mechanical Assembly and Repair:

• Performing mechanical assemblies on various equipment, such as compressors, pumps and gearboxes.
• Disassembly, overhaul and assembly of mechanical parts on the basis of technical drawings.
• Applying specific techniques, such as fitting making, aligning and determining play.
• Use of specialized tools (bearing pullers, oxy-fuel burners, torque wrenches, etc.).

Quality and Safety Management:

• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and ensuring a clean and organized workplace.
• Actively participate in toolbox meetings and safety instructions.
• Performing Last Minute Risk Analyses (LMRA) and reporting incidents.

Operational Support and Mentoring:

• Supporting junior technicians through guidance and training.
• Act as a mentor and point of contact for new hires during their onboarding period.
• Supervise the progress and quality of the work carried out.

Your Education Should Be…

• Education: At least a secondary school diploma in a technical field (e.g. Mechanics, Electromechanics).
• Work experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the mechanical sector.
• Certificates: B-VCA certificate is required.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of mechanical processes and the use of specific tools.
• Language skills: Proficiency in Dutch; English is an advantage.
