Howden, a Chart Industries Company, is a global engineering business that focuses on providing clients with industrial products that help multiple sectors improve their everyday processes. Howden South Africa Division invites applications for the available apprenticeship programme for young people who are currently unemployed. This is a 4-year programme suitable for people who are interested in pursuing a career as artisans. We are looking for five (5) apprentices in the following trades in Gauteng and Mpumalanga: two (2) Boilermakers, one (1) Welder, and two (2) Mechanical Fitters.
What do you need to bring?
The apprenticeship program integrates both on-the-job training and structured theoretical instruction. As an apprentice, you will learn useful, trade-specific skills by assisting skilled artisans with technical tasks. To be considered, you will need to bring the following:
- Technical Matric with Mathematics and Science; or
- N3 with relevant trade subjects.
- Certified copy of latest school/college results must be attached.
- Certified clear copy of ID.
- Engineering aptitude
- Self-motivated
- Quick learner
- Problem solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Team player
Site Allocations:
Gauteng: Booysens (2x Boilermakers and 1x Welder)
Mpumalanga: Arnot (1x Mechanical Fitter); Kendal (1x Mechanical Fitter)
Special Requirements:
- Medically fit
- Good cognitive abilities (Psychometric Assessments will be done)
- No criminal record (Police clearance required).
